Lumiere is a premium quality reflector metallic epoxy flooring system that combines the strength and durability characteristics of industrial coatings and reflective enhancer properties of Lumiere metallic essence. Lumiere metallic pigments are a versatile class of coloring agents, composed of fine particles of malleable metals in elemental form. The significance comes from their ability to provide stunning visual effects that are impossible using traditional organic and metal compound pigments. Lumiere metallic essence retains many of the attributes of bulk metal, such as solidity (opacity), metallic color, sheen, malleability, ductility, and density. Their use as coloring matter reflects this. Aluminum and gold bronze pigments provide the appearance of silver and gold respectively, with the aura of quality and prestige that these metals imply. For this reason, Lumiere designer epoxy flooring is often used in prestige applications to add value.

Installing Metallic Epoxy Coatings (Lumiere)

Best Flooring For Lumiere – Metallic Epoxy Coating In Dubai

Duraamen’s metallic epoxy coating (Lumiere) provides unique and decorative concrete floors for residential and commercial use. The metallic epoxies use a combination of epoxy and metallic pigments in varying proportions to give a stylish and contemporary outlook to your floor.

This section explains the simple procedure of installing Duraamen metallic epoxy for a seamless concrete floor with long-lasting strength and durability.

Step 1: Create an Ideal Concrete Surface Profile

Before installation, make sure to obtain the suitable CSP, concrete surface profile. Ideally, it should be between 3 and 4. You can use a planetary grinder or shot blast machine for it. The surface should be clear of any dust particles or cracks.

Step 2: Select the Primer

Priming prepares a surface for subsequent operation. It provides better adhesion, paint durability, and additional protection for epoxy coating.

Perdure E02 is recommended primer for Durammen metallic epoxy coating. It goes deeper into the surface to remove any possibility of gassing bubbles in a finished floor.

Step 3: Prime the Concrete Floor

Before priming, follow Duraamen’s instructions to select the right primer ratio between parts A and B. The primer ratio for E02 is 2:1. A is always the base colour with pigment.

  • Slowly Pour A and B into a bucket. Use a mixer to amalgamate them for 3 minutes. The primer will be ready for installation.
  • Prime the surface with E02 using a roller.
  • Roll it back and forth to ensure uniformity. Spread the primer on the entire surface.
  • E02 takes 24 hours to dry. After drying, the surface will be ready for coating.

Step 4: Install Metallic Epoxy Coating

Duraamen offers a wide range of Lumiere colors for epoxy coating. You can choose any color of your choice.

  • Pour Duraamen’s Lumiere clear and metallic pigment on the floor.
  • There are multiple trowelling techniques in practice for mixing. Use fast rollers for quick installation.
  • After finding the right combination, add the final color and textures. The installation is done.
  • The color takes about 24 hours to settle.

Step 5: Apply the Topcoat

The top seal forms a protective layer of epoxy coating for protection. It gets contacted every day and bears all damages. The most recommended top seal for Lumiere coating is Perdure P72.

  • Remove any dust or particles from the epoxy surface.
  • Make a 1: 1 ratio of Predure P72 for metallic epoxy coating.
  • Use rollers to spread the topcoat quickly.
  • Ensure the surface is uniform, and the floor is ready to use.

An important aspect here is to keep 3 or 4 rollers readily available. Because after some time, the color will settle on the roller itself. It affects rolling efficiency and uniformity of coloring. Once you see such a condition, change the roller right away.
Following these instructions, you can apply Lumiere coating on any concrete floor. However, it is vital to hire a professional. Request a quote from Duraamen if you want any assistance with installing the metallic epoxy coating.
