Industrial flooring requires performance and installation characteristics including durability, resistance to chemicals, non-slip surfaces, low maintenance costs and a seamless install. Self-leveling epoxy is up to the challenge.
Self-leveling resinous coatings, or resinous flooring, reduce or eliminate the penetration or foreign substances, like dirt oil and grease, into the concrete substrate thus extending the life of the flooring. An epoxy coating system can be custom tailored to incorporate chemical resistance, a non-slip surface, aesthetic beauty, and low maintenance. Once an epoxy coating is installed the floor can be maintained by routine cleaning similar to most standard house cleaning procedures. For these reasons epoxy floor coatings are ideal for light manufacturing facilities, warehouses, aircraft hangers, maintenance facilities, locker rooms, laundries, cafeterias and more.
Duraamen offers two epoxy coating systems for industrial flooring: Perdure High-Build Coating System and the Perdure Traffic Coating System. These systems consist primarily of an epoxy primer (Perdure E02), an epoxy body coat (Perdure E10 or Perdure E20) and a urethane or epoxy top coat (Perdure U50, U45, U90 or Perdure NE25 Novolac Epoxy for Chemical resistance).
Installing Self-leveling Epoxy
In this instructional how-to video, Bob Harris of the Decorative Concrete Institute demonstrates the installation of a resinous flooring system and discusses options for putting together a system that will meet the specific demands of most industrial flooring applications. Preparation and mixing techniques for epoxy coating products are demonstrated in detail.
